Founded in 1999, In Water Flowers began as a small-scale floral service in London, personally delivering and styling arrangements from a van.

The breakthrough event came with the opening of the Tate Modern in 2000. in water’s design for this event is still remembered – it was the first florist to completely submerge flowers underwater in clear glass vases and display orchid plants and flowers frozen in giant ice blocks.

Over the years, the business evolved into one of London’s leading floral design studios, renowned for its artistic, large-scale installations and luxury event floristry.

The studio gained recognition through prestigious projects, including Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal installations and a standout commission for the National Gallery in 2016, where they recreated a classical painting using over 26,000 flowers.

Since that first milestone, in water flowers has gone from strength to strength, creating extraordinary exhibits, captivating displays, and visionary installations.

Highlights include:

  • A dramatic suspended living floral wall at The National Gallery, featuring over 26,000 fresh-cut flowers across 35 square metres, commissioned in partnership with Funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk and the Dutch Flower Council.
  • A bold Royal Entrance for RHS Chelsea Flower Show, inspired by London’s skyline, showcasing over 20,000 ombré white, pink, and purple flowers with mirrored panels and soaring floral plinths.
  • An immersive live floral installation for Canon Europe at PHOTOKINA in Germany, featuring an 8-metre succulent terrarium and kinetic floral sculpture—an exhibit that earned Canon the Diamond Award for Best Storytelling.
  • A floral recreation of Shawn Mendes’self-titled album cover. Crafted during an 8-hour live stream on YouTube—with over 2 million views—ultimately unveiling the design for his self-titled album’s cover live to fans.

With a strong heritage, an exciting present, and a future full of vision, in water flowers remains at the forefront of floral design—delivering breathtaking botanical experiences that are both unforgettable and unmatched.
